Monetize your site with Auction Ads

Posted by TJantunen in Make money online, ... | 05.29.2007 - 1:57 pm

I have joined in to the program called Auction Ads. Their advertising banner displays live eBay auction ads based on the keywords that you fill while generating the ad code. Minimum payout is a low as $10. And you will get paid when someone click on an Auction Ad listing and take an action on eBay. So it is a Cost per Action program. AuctionAds is committed to paying out a minimum of 100% of eBay commission revenue. But in a some point Auction Ads will begin to take a little bit off the top of any money you make.

They have also affiliate program. It is pretty cool affiliate program, because there is no need to sign up.

There is no need to sign up for our affiliate program because our affiliate program is built right into the ads you display! If a user clicks on the “Ads by AuctionAds” that is displayed and signs up for our service you earn a bonus 2% of all revenue generated by that user for the 6 months.

You will get paid the first of every month via Paypal. We feature a 30 day cookie on all referrals.

There is also a URL converter which converts any eBay link to affiliate link. So if you find a really cool product from eBay, you can make ad of it to your blog page. And maybe make some money with it.

Auction Ads have a lot better CTR at my blog compared to AdSense. My Auction ads CTR is 3.14% and ads have been live since May 15th.

Proof of payment from BloggerWave

I have seen a lot of discussion saying that BloggerWave is a scam. Well, maybe when more of these proof of payments are coming, those talks about scams disappears.

Test results from boosting my videos with buyrefs.com

Posted by TJantunen in Make money online, M... | 05.23.2007 - 3:11 pm

Now I have gathered enough data to reveal my test results from boosting my revver.com videos with buyrefs.com. I bouhgt something about 10000 hits to my Revver.com collection page. Well this excperience was not really a success. I only managed to earn with my videos $0.28. My conclusion is that you have to have more videos and probably with better quality to make this kind of projects to work.

I am always a little bit scepticall how these kind of bought visitors visits your page, maybe they just leave your site open in a browser and when a needed amount of time has gone, they just surf elsewhere. Of course my Revver.com collection page was not very interesting place to visit. I think that bought visitors will do a lot better job when target is someones blog or some other webpage. Then they have a possibility to surf in blog pages if they see something interesting at landingpage.

Google Hot Trends

Posted by TJantunen in Make money online, M... | 05.22.2007 - 12:42 pm

Earlier Google has told afterwards about trends of web searches for example popular Google news topics. Now Google has launched a new continuous trend tool and trends search engine, Google Hot Trends. From there you can find what is hot in web just now and what is going up, and how those trends are evolving.

Googles earlier tools have been for example Zeitgeist. But data from that source is several weeks old. According to Google, data from Google Trends is updated atleast a few times per day. And now there is a search engine which gives a possibility to investigate trends, you can also search by countries.

Information to Google Hot Trends is coming from Google search engine. But there is also information from Google news and Google blog search engines.

Here are for example todays’s hot trends (USA):

Today’s Hot Trends (USA)
1. avandia
2. jaclyn nesheiwat
3. lane garrison
4. bahai faith
5. andy and tessa

New Text Link Ads Hotlist

Posted by TJantunen in Make money online, M... | 05.22.2007 - 7:51 am

I just got email from Text Link Ads saying that they have announced a new feature that will make it easier to navigate in their marketplace. That new feature is called the “HotList”. The HotList allows you to save inventory that you are interested into a list that will always be there when you login. That sounds pretty handy featureto me. This way you can save items that you are considering without putting it into your shopping cart or worrying about losing it in our ever growing marketplace.

You will see the HotList icon when browsing our marketplace after you hover over the “reveal” link of a listing. We hope you try it out and to celebrate our new feature you can save 15% off new ads purchased this week only. This discount is good for the life of the ads and you just need to use the coupon code: hotlist at checkout. Head over to TLA now.

So now you have a great opportunity to buy a text link from my blog. From the following link you can view my blog marketplace.

A little bit of advertising terminology

Posted by TJantunen in Make money online, M... | 05.21.2007 - 1:39 pm

I thought that collection of a few advertising terms in to a blog post would be usefull. At least I have often saw some terms which meaning I can not remember/know. That is when I got this idea to collect a few common advertising terms in to this post. By tagging my post to del.icio.us, I can quicly check it, if I bump into a term which I do not remember. Leave a comment if some important term is missing from my list.

Click-through rate or CTR is a way of measuring the success of an online advertising campaign. A CTR is obtained by dividing the number of users who clicked on an ad on a web page by the number of times the ad was delivered (impressions). For example, if your banner ad was delivered 100 times (impressions delivered) and 1 person clicked on it (clicks recorded), then the resulting CTR would be 1%.

CPM Cost Per Mille or cost ‰ or Cost per thousand or cost per mille (abbreviated as CPT or, more commonly, CPM). Rather than an absolute cost, CPM estimates the cost per 1000 views of the ad.

Effective Cost Per Mille or eCPM (as it is often initialized to) is a phrase often used in online advertising and online marketing circles. It means the cost of every 1,000 ad impressions shown.

Cost Per Impression is a phrase often used in online advertising and marketing related to web traffic. It is used for measuring the worth and cost of a specific e-marketing campaign.

Pay per click (PPC) is an advertising technique used on websites, advertising networks, and search engines.

Cost Per Action or CPA (as it is often initialized to) is a phrase often used in online advertising and online marketing circles. CPA is considered the optimal form of buying online advertising from a direct response advertiser’s point of view. An advertiser only pays for the ad when an action has occurred. An action can be a product being purchased, a form being filled, etc.

Click fraud is a type of internet crime that occurs in pay per click online advertising when a person, automated script, or computer program imitates a legitimate user of a web browser clicking on an ad, for the purpose of generating a charge per click without having actual interest in the target of the ad’s link. Click fraud is the subject of some controversy and increasing litigation due to the advertising networks being a key beneficiary of the fraud.

In Internet marketing, search engine marketing, or SEM, is a set of marketing methods to increase the visibility of a website in search engine results pages (SERPs).

Search engine optimization (SEO), a subset of search engine marketing, is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (”organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results, or the higher it “ranks,” the more searchers will visit that site.

Fold: “Above the fold,” a term borrowed from print media, refers to an ad that is viewable as soon as the Web page arrives. You don’t have to scroll down (or sideways) to see it. Since screen resolution can affect what is immediately viewable, it’s good to know whether the Web site’s audience tends to set their resolution at 640 by 480 pixels or at 800 by 600 (or higher).

Splash page: A splash page (also known as an interstitial) is a preliminary page that precedes the regular home page of a Web site and usually promotes a particular site feature or provides advertising. A splash page is timed to move on to the home page after a short period of time.

Stickiness: A performance metric based on the ability of a web site to hold a visitor’s attention. A web site’s stickiness is average duration per user session or per unique visitor.

Viral Marketing: Any advertising that propagates itself.

Volvo S40 T5 AWD 2006 test drive

Posted by TJantunen in Make money online, M... | 05.18.2007 - 2:45 pm

Volvo S40 T5 AWDI had an opportunity to take Volvo S40 T5 AWD 2006 to test drive. That car was equipped with automatic transmission. It has 2.5 liter 218 hp turbocharged engine and 0-100 km/h should be reached in 7.5 seconds. So it is quite fast. Of course I tested its acceleration and when you reach about 4000 rpm then it is really going. But it is amazing nice car to drive with slow speeds also. It has enough torque to cruise just 50km/h with 5th gear. And when you hit pedal to the medal at that speed then it changes a couple of gears lower and there you go again. I drove that car in wet conditions but still I did not saw DTSC light flashing when accelerating, thanks to AWD. Even in the gravel acceleration was very good and I did not noticed wheel spin almost at all. It was really fun to drive with this car.

Only negative thing is that it is so called medium size sedan. The trunk is large in capacity, but a bit small in opening size. And if I adjust the drivers seat to my driving position there is not much leg room behind me after that. I personally prefer cars with little bit more room.

Volvo S40 T5 AWD specs

Engine type: 2.5-liter, five-cylinder turbocharged, DOHC
· Horsepower: 218 hp @ 5000 rpm
· Torque: 236 lb-ft @ 1500 - 4800 rpm
· Redline: 6500 rpm
· Drive type: all wheel drive
· 0 - 60: 6.5 sec
· 1/4 mile: 15.2 sec @ 93.0 mph
· Top speed: 149 mph
