Preview frame plugin

Published by TJantunen under General

When I upgraded my blog to WordPress 2.3.2 I noticed that preview frame was lost. For whatever reasons, Wordpress replaced the preview panel with a preview link. So, after the upgrade, the last thing to do was to bring back to the Wordpress preview window. I really liked the old behavior when you were able to preview your post quickly before publishing it.

Fortunately, Roblog created a plugin that will bring the preview window back.

Installing the plugin is easy, just upload the preview-frame directory to your wp-content/plugins directory and activate it in the admin panel. The post previews will immediately start displaying when you edit posts.

Buy Me a beer plugin

Published by TJantunen under Make money online

Buy me a Beer is a WordPress plugin that allows your readers to donate money to you via PayPal. The plugin adds a “Buy Me a Beer” button to the sidebar and at the end of all posts. When your readers click on that button, they are taken to the secure PayPal page from where they can donate money to you.

Why add a “Buy Me a Beer” button instead of a simple “Donate Money” button?

Past experience shows me that asking people to donate money by giving them a specific reason increases donations by 200%!

For people who prefer non-alcoholic drinks, there is a setting to replace the beer mugs with coffee cups. I added this plugin to my blog and you can see it just below post. It is visible only in a single post mode so that it would not be visible in main blog page.

Two very nice plugins

Published by TJantunen under General

I found this great plugin for Wordpress called wp-db-backup, which you can use to backup your databases from within Wordpress. You can set it up to save the backups to the server, e-mail it to you, or download it to your computer. In addition, if you have WP-Cron plugin installed, you will get a option for the WordPress Database Backup. Under Manage->Backup in your WP admin screen you will have the opportunity to schedule a daily backup of your database.

Another very handy plugin is the WordPress Automatic Upgrade Plugin. It does a backup of both your files and database, grabs the latest version of WordPress, disables and then re-enables your plugins and even puts your blog into maintenance mode during the upgrade. And this is not taking more than five clicks from you.

I used this plugin to upgrade my blog and it was a very simple plugin to use. And upgrade process was very fast too. I recommend you to use this great plugin when you are upgrading your wordpress blog.

Of course there is always the chance that the upgrade will fail, so if that happens you will need to follow the WordPress upgrade instructions to do a manual upgrade.

Wikipedia effect

Published by TJantunen under General

I have noticed that I receive hits from Wikipedia on a regular basis, that surprises me a little bit. Well, I had to got to check out that Wikipedia link and I noticed that there was a link to one of my blog pages. In my opinion a reference link from Wikipedia is a great free promotion to my blog and it will add traffic a lot to my site. You can check out that Wikipedia page from this link.

Good money from SlashMySearch.com

Published by TJantunen under Make money online

See this post: Stop using SlashMySearch From there you can find my most recent thoughts about SlashMySearch.

Today I checked my SlashMySearch.com stats and I surprised very positively. January earnings alone was over $75, that is pretty good amount for a one month. I have to admit that I have not put much effort for SlashMySearch.com promoting, because I have thought that I never would get anything from that program. How wrong I was!

It is nice to notice that program you thought is no good at all, is making a good money after all. The key feature for this kind of success is of course networking. At the start when I joined into SlashMySearch.com, I build a good downline and kind of forget the whole program until now.

There is also a new viewbar available for SlashMySearch.com, check out my previous post. Maybe that is the reason for this month success.

Remember also check out this proof of payment from SlashMySearch.com .
