Hits4Pay is pretty simple in the way it works. You get emails, you view ads, and you get paid for it. When you sign up you probably won’t get a conformation email that day (I didn’t) but you should get one by the next day. I have to say though that I still like InboxDollars that best because they offer more oppurtunities to earn cash. This site only offer’s one.
Hits4Pay will send you emails letting you know that you have new paid emails available. In order to actually read those emails you have to log in to the website and go to your internal mailbox on the site. Here you will see how many paid emails you have available. The way these work is that you will see ad and at the bottom of the ad is a red button that says ‘visit the website.’ You click on this and will be redirected to the advertizers website. At the top of the screen in a seprate little box you will see ‘Please View The Advertiser’s website below while we Credit your account. Please wait…’
You don’t have to sign up for anything on the website, you don’t even really have to look at it if you don’t want to. Just do something else in another window for about 20 seconds. After 20 seconds go back to the advertiser’s webpage window and at the top of the screen it will read ‘Your Account has been credited $.02 for Viewing This Ad! Click Here to View the Next Advertisement’. Then you click on the link and your taken back to your internal mailbox to view another ad. The flow of ads for you to view vary from day to day. Some days I get no ads sometimes I’ll get 10.
The only other way to make money from this site is to refer your friends. This site is great about giving you lots of banners and your own link to use wherever and refer people.They even have an info page giving you ideas of where you can market your link or page. The referals are 2 tiered. I have only had one referal so I only know that you get 1 cent for every ad your referal reads on the first tier. I’m not sure what the amount is for the second tier.

How can I improve the site’s rank in search engines?
Google: “In general, webmasters can improve the rank of their sites by increasing the number of high-quality sites that link to their pages.” (Source: Google).
Availability of unique and useful content on your site is definitely a must, but it does not guarantee good rank of the site in search engines. The more quality pages of different sites have links to your pages (the text of links is especially important), the higher will the rating of your site in search engines be.
How can I increase the number of links to the site?
There are several ways to do that.
1. First of all, you can exchange links with other sites manually. This is a very time-consuming process, and, hence, not a really efficient one. Search engines will not welcome link exchange directories on your site. There are automated link exchange directories. But it’s really easy for search engines to find links from such directories, and soon your website may disappear out of the ranking/search results. The main distinction of such linkexchange system is the fact that links are displayed for search bots rather than for people, because people never reach these directories.
2. You can register site in directories, and receive some links to your site’s main page. Almost all links will be from very deep PR 0 pages, containing tons of other outbond links on them. Moreover, registration in directories has 2 disadvantages: it’s impossible to promote your subpages, and you can’t use anchors that you want (many directories require very long anchors). But registration in directories with careful selection of anchors, categories and descriptions may give some results.
3. You can publish advertising articles on top ranking sites, which is quite time and effort consuming. Its an efficient and very expensive way, but there are very few sites that will display such articles on permanent basis. The rank of a page with an article during the first few months is very low (PR=0), just like with all new pages, and links from such pages will not bring results at once.
4. Another option is to buy not very noticeable footer/sidebar links. It requires vast experience when selecting sites for purchase. Not all links are effective. You can use text link ads brokers. Search engines do not welcome public sale of links. Most of the sites from the lists are penalized. Usually there are over 10-20 links displayed on main pages of sites participating in brolers – the value of each link is insignificant. Moreover, people buying links at link exchanges have to check each site manually, because brokers bear almost no responsibility. You can get more information about disadvantages on this option here.
How else can I attract clients to my site?
One of the most popular ways to attract visitors to the website is to use pay-per-click advertising. It has certain pluses and minuses (more detailed information – here). You will have to pay for each visitor that clicked on your ad (and you will also have to pay for clicks of competitors and publishers). Advertisements are displayed in the results produced by search engines (usually in the right part of the page), and on independent sites in separate ad blocks. Take heed of another disadvantage of such advertising: many users treat any type of advertisements negatively, they ignore it or use software to block it (its really easy, because javascript is usually used to count clicks). Use ppc ads to attract clients, but don’t forget about more important sources of traffic – search engines results and direct links from related sites.

I just received following email from matched.co.uk:
It is with much regret that we announce that Matched.co.uk has closed.
Matched has been running as a beta experiment for some time and, after much careful consideration, it has been decided not to progress the project to the next stage.
As a result, Matched will not be accepting new sign-ups and will no longer be assigning adverts to its current publisher base.
If you completed your last payment run before November 19th 2008, you will still be paid, but please note that no future payments will be made after this. Therefore, we recommend that you remove any Matched ads from your websites.

This is one example when make money online program is not continuing after beta release. But I have to say that it is a big plus for matched people that they informed members fast about this situation. There are a lot of programs which just shut down without any notice, like slashmysearch, that is not a good way to handle ramp down process.
