Verizon already announced the enhancements to its FiOS TV Twitter and Facebook widgets. These are two widget recently added for free in its interactive social TV applications. With the new enhancements, subscribers of FiOS service can send in Twitter messages in real-time and update Facebook profile using an on-screen keyboard. The company is concentrating on adding new functionalities to improve customer experience of social networking.

LG has officially announced the LG GW300 , its low-end messaging phone that comes with full QWERTY keyboard. And it’s not just SMS the GW300 can do – LG is also touting the device’s social networking features, such as a native Facebook app. Rest of the specs includes 2.4-inch screen (QVGA?), Bluetooth, media player, FM radio, 3.5mm headset jack, and a microSD memory card slot. In addition, the device ships with LG’s LiveSquare application, allowing users to place their favorite contacts on the homescreen.

Two things happened recently that I took as serendipity — I found a cool new computer-based training recorder service called Screenr.com, and  I was in a discussion at the SSP Board meeting in which there was a sentiment that we should have some training for SSP members about how to blog.Well, here’s a 5-minute tour behind the scenes of the Scholarly Kitchen. Although my desk is currently undergoing renovation and hopefully soon a lick of paint, my lap is considered a worthy substitute until said work is completed. So, from my “lap” the news is thus. Firstly I have upgraded to the latest version of WordPress which is a task that can usually be put off for a while but can never be completely outrun – I did it this morning and no major problems have reared up having been tested in a few browsers themes and formatting are all intact.

If you use Xmarks to synchronize your bookmarks across browsers and OS’s, you will know that life without your bookmarks is intolerable :-) Xmarks requires Firefox 3 to run. But it used to be known as Foxmarks and the last available version (2.6.2) of that runs perfectly on the Bon Echo / BezillaBrowser included in Haiku alpha 1.
