How to Repair a Samsung SyncMaster 204B Monitor Backlight
Symptoms: Your Samsung SyncMaster 204B, 204T, or Samsung 225BW will not light up. It may take a few minutes to light up, it may flicker, or not start up at all.
This may be due to bad capacitors in the light board inside this monitor. The good news is that this is about as easy and cheap a problem to fix that you can get.
Open up the monitor and look for bulging capacitors, a sure symptom that you’ve got a bad cap.
Replace them with capacitors that match the specifications and your monitor should be good to go!

1. Unplug the monitor before opening it up.
2. Capacitors may hold a charge even after unplugging (that’s their job after all), so you should discharge capacitors before working on them.
