GroupOn Added To Google Portfolio?
Speculation has been rife in recent weeks that Google are to purchase local deals site GroupOn, but would appear that the deal has now been done with Vator.tv releasing details of the $2.5 billion deal.
Neither Google nor GroupOn have yet confirmed the deal but Tweets documented by TechCrunch between GroupOn’s CEO Andrew Mason and Google’s Neeraj Arora talking about deals beteen the two in September seem to give the story some credibility.
VatorNews added that their unnamed source has said that neither party will confirm the deal at present.
