Becoming a Full-Time Affiliate Marketer

Published by under Make money online

Q: Shawn, I would first like to thank you for you willingness to share your experience and success, it’s much appreciated. You mentioned not to proceed with your Extra Money Answer blog if you’re looking to get rich, I get that, but I’m looking to reach the point where I can reduce myself to one job (short to medium term) and potentially see affiliate marketing as a full time business some day. Is that feasable? Or should I only expect to make an extra $50-$100 or so a month? I realize I have to put in the time and effort (your information is a great help).

Shawn CollinsA: There are quite a few people who are making their livelihood through affiliate marketing.

However, most people are not at that level, so I created Extra Money Answer to provide a realistic expectation of the potential for an affiliate marketer.

Most affiliates are making $25, $50 or $100 a month… if they’re making anything at all.

The possibility to support yourself with affiliate marketing as a career is out there, but don’t expect it to happen quick or easy.

I would suggest the path I took where I worked for many years at a full-time job and did my affiliate stuff on the side.

This was in addition to a number of other part-time jobs, including freelance Web design, managing some sites for companies, weekend editor of the sports section for NJ.com, etc. to supplement my income.

Eventually, I was able to grow the affiliate marketing activity to be a job by itself.

How to make multiple calls in Gmail

Published by under Technology

Gmail is going through constant innovation where we can see a lot of new features and improvements since it’s first introduced. Gmail is not only a mere email service but has expanded its communication abilities by incorporating video and voice calls. After the voice and video call was introduced, Gmail only allows only 1 call possible at one time.

Recently, Gmail has taken the voice and video call feature 1 step further by allowing users to make and receive multiple calls in Gmail. If you are already on the phone, you can make a second one. When you make the second call, the first call will be put on hold. Switching between these 2 calls is easy; you just need to press the “Resume” button which will render the previous call on hold.

Likewise, when you have another incoming call while you are on the phone, you will be notified through a notification where you can choose to reject or accept it. When new call is answered the previous call will be automatically put on hold.

Even though you are having a second call, you can always put the current conversation on hold by pressing the “Hold” button and when you are ready to resume your conversation, you can always press the “Resume” button again.

This new interesting feature works like a charm on all types of call (voice, phone and video). The small downside of this feature is when a small restriction is put on making calls to physical phones where you can maximum 2 simultaneous calls simultaneously.

Time Travel a No Go? No Way

Published by under Technology

It appears that scientists at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology proved recently that you can’t travel faster than the speed of light in a vacuum. That discovery, howled many popular publications, means time travel is impossible. “Impossible,” however, is a very powerful word. Has this research truly proven that traveling in time is absolutely and without a doubt out of reach? In fact, the discovery does not rule out time travel per se, Shengwang Du, who led the HKUST research team, told TechNewsWorld.

DIY electric bicycle comes with three power modes

Published by under Technology

Bicycles are supposed to be a healthy mode of transport to help you get around from one point to the other without emitting any more greenhouse gases than you should, while helping you break a sweat so that you can burn off that Whopper from Burger King you had for lunch earlier in the day. Well, sometimes you might feel too tired to cycle all the way back – which is where an electric bicycle comes in handy, as that particular mode of transport will have a small motor to ferry you across those steep uphill slopes as you take a break.

A designer from Ventura, California, recently came up with his very own home-built electric bicycle that will come with not one, but three power modes. This enables the rider to select from pedal-assist, pure electric motor or standard biking whenever he/she is on the road.

Known as the eCortina v2, this electric bicycle that could will run on a 48 volt lithium polymer battery system, where it ought to deliver up to 15 miles of range although Prince, the inventor, hopes to throw in even more batteries so that the range can be further extended to 23 miles.

Prince also did mention that his eCortina v2 that comes with a 3 speed rear-hub for gear optimization, and radio controlled, brushless magneto-electric motors, will tip the scales at around 60 pounds thereabouts. Despite the weight (and if you take into consideration the rider’s weight as well), the eCortina v2 is able to hit a rather impressive top speed of 45 miles per hour.

The eCortina v2 is for sale at the moment. Too bad there is only one of its kind at the moment, and Prince is still mulling over how much the price of his bicycle is going to be. Do you think he is better off selling his idea to someone who has the resources to churn out the eCortina v2 on a large scale?
